Custom Manufacturing’s
CM-2 Stationary Compactors are the most common type used in industrial
installations. In this type the compactor remains "stationary" (bolted to the
ground), and the Receiver Container (packer box) is detached from it, winched up
onto the "roll-off truck", and hauled away to the local refuse dump, and
emptied. It is then, brought back to the compactor and re-attached. Using this
method, the maximum amount of trash can be hauled away for each trip.
These are two separate components you have the stationary compactor and you have
the receiving container and the power unit.

Remote Power Unit with Standard Control box is separate from
the compactor / container, this allows it to remain free of damage caused during
hauling to and from disposal sites and free of problems caused by landfill dust.
There are no electrical connections to "make" or "break".
Primary components in a Stationary Compactor are:
Ram, Cylinder, Power Unit, and Receiver Container
The ram forces the refuse into the compaction container.
The cylinder is behind the ram and moves it forward and backwards.
Depending on the velocity of compaction it might require a larger or smaller
cylinder.
The power unit is what makes the piston in the cylinder move forward and
backward making the compaction process happen. The power unit also contains the
fuses, and switches that operate the compactor. See ratings below.
The Receiver Container holds all the compacted trash.
